I chose this topic for project two because it is going on in modern day America. Urban music celebrities like J.Cole, Kanye West, Ice Cube, Beyoncé, have all been involved in politics and all have had a reaction from people across America. The Black Lives Matter movement has been promoted by celebrities and the reactions from people around the world. Does celebrity involvement help or hurt the Black Lives Matter movement is the question that I asked myself while writing this paper because of the events that have happened. I think that i hit my big break when I did project three and created the genres into visual objects. I learned that when celebrities use their image that they have on political matters and can both bring them up and also bring them down. While writing this paper I learned to argue facts on both sides and not pick a side. I also learned to create a claim an counter claim. Learning these skills will hep me later in my college career. It was important for me to write about this subject because I am Pro-Black Lives Matter and I am also for celebrity activism because of their huge influence.
